I had seen Ms. Schneider present at the South Florida Alzheimer’s Conference. She spoke so sincerely and authoritatively that I felt certain this was one person I could trust to walk me through the maze of laws and procedures and documents I would need to help me with preparing for my parents’ elder care and estate planning, as well as our own, especially given the complexity of planning for our disabled daughter’s future care without us. Being organizationally disabled myself (if only it were a joke), this was no easy task for us or for Ms. Schneider. It took months, stretching into more than a year for me to gather all the papers necessary, with frequent progress assessments by phone, e-mail and in-person. When it came time for the final signing of all the documents, she took great care explain in meticulous detail the implications of each document, sometimes several times. One of the reasons I had put off getting an attorney was my dread of feeling totally helpless and at the mercy of a professional who knew I knew nothing about her area of expertise. Choosing Ms. Schneider was one of the best business decisions I’ve ever made.
